About Me
Jami Lynn Fowler s a seasoned creatrix currently residing in Waldoboro, Maine. A Sophomore at the University of Maine in Augusta, she has been continuing her education since the summer of 2021 towards an Interdisciplinary Degree in Fine Art and Mental health.
Over the last 20 years, since her honorable discharge from the Army, Jami’s list of creative skills has grown to include sewing, drawing, fiber artistry with a focus on knitting, felting and spinning yarn, sculpture, and more recently, pottery. Much of these skills have been used to create pieces for her own enjoyment, as well as for her friends and family, though she has recently begun selling her work to lovers of her craft.
Jami’s love for pottery emerged from an Introduction to Ceramic Sculpture class – one of her first classes upon entering UMA – taught by the wonderful Mary Alice Weber. Jami was so enamored by clay that by the end of the semester she had made the decision to build a pottery studio in her basement. There is where she now spends much of her time outside of being a mother and a business owner. Her commitment to her craft recently won her an “Excellence in Ceramics” award at the UMA 2022 Student Art Show, as well as respected spot here in The Peace Gallery.
