This weekend is the beginning of the second season for The Peace Gallery! Bernie has chosen the theme “Proudly She Served – A Salute to Women Veteran Artists” for the season-long show. There are currently six women veteran artists contributing to the gallery providing a range of artwork including painting, pottery, herbal products, and crafts. The show opening is Friday, May 26th from 5 to 7 PM. Be there! What an evening …. great art followed by a wonderful seafood dinner across the street … or whatever else you might choose to do.
Along with the new season we have five artists new to the gallery this year. Of behalf of myself and the gallery, I’d like to extend a “welcome aboard” to all and say thanks for making the effort to become part of the team. I’ve seen all the new artwork and it is amazing. When you visit, I’m sure you’ll think so too. Here are the new members (very briefly, with links to thier gallery page):
Lindsay Cordero – a painter, and author-illustrator of children’s books.
Gigi DeLisle – a watercolor artist who spends time at the shore.
Wayne Robbins – a biology teacher turned sea-life wood-carver.
Murad Sayen – a photographer and oil painter who portrays ordinary people.
Zandra Sneed-Dawklins – a painter of acrylic mosaics focusing on portraiture and representational art.
Returning women veteran artists are:
Christina Goosens – herbal products for various uses.
Jami Fowler – a potter and sewist.
Kelsey Towle – a landscape and seascape painter.
Add the show opening to your calendar – the 26th from 5 to 7 PM. See some great art, meet some of the people who made it happen. It’ll be a phenomenal evening. I hope to see you there.
Be well and stay safe.
Gordon
