Wayne Robbins
Born and raised in the coast of Maine, Mr. Robbins was inspired as a youth to capture the essence of nature in wood. As he developed his art, he found that time in his studio complemented his career as a biology teacher.
He has led numerous whale-watching trips, was a long-time volunteer in marine mammal rescue efforts and presents lively nature programs to groups of all ages. He has also enjoyed teaching the art of wood carving for many years. Robbin’s sculptures are found in collections around the world and can be purchased in several select galleries along the Maine coast as well as at his home gallery. Now, more than ever before, our oceans are being threatened. Through his teaching and art, Mr. Robbins creatively seeks to share his passion for the sea and to inspire sustainable practices in order to protect and preserve Earth’s fragile ecosystem.
